Week 11: Conferences, Round 2
A reminder that this week--as with last time--we will not be having formal class sessions. At this point, you should be thinking of ways to wrap up your research paper
Keep working on these, and I am really looking forward to seeing the kind of work that you can produce!
The Sign-up Doc is also available again for your convenience.
- What final formatting and grammatical revisions do you need to make before you bring it to the conference?
- Can you get about five pages polished and presentable for the day of your conference?
- Think about questions that you might have for me about the content of the paper. What parts of your thesis have you addressed? What parts of your argument need to be shored up somewhat?
- How are you engaging with your sources? Are you only looking for things that "prove" certain points that you are attempting to make? Or--perhaps more effectively--are you looking for various sources that really allow you to address your points in a manner that is thoroughly comprehensive? Can you critique your sources? Are there gaps in the arguments that the author is making?
Keep working on these, and I am really looking forward to seeing the kind of work that you can produce!
