- What racial identity are you thinking about addressing in your research project?
- What anime are you looking at focusing on? (Please refer to the selected filmography or email me directly if you would like suggestions).
- How do you plan on framing your analysis? What history(/histories?) might be particularly helpful in providing context? How effective is the anime at presenting meaningful points about the racial identity you want to investigate? Does it descend into or rely on stereotyping? How/why? Are we to understand your critique/argument in regards to a Japanese context? A transnational or global context? (<--You don't need to answer all of these questions, but they can serve as foundation for your brainstorming).
